We pray for the people of Ukraine
For our 19th March coffee morning, in response to the Ukraine crisis we changed the charity supported to the Disasters Emergency Committee and raised £235. We will continue to raise funds for this cause by having an Easter Hamper Raffle. If you would like to donate something for the hamper please let Shree know. The raffle will be drawn at coffee after the service on Easter Day. Tickets are £2
The original charity, ‘Electric Umbrella’ will be our chosen charity in July. A prayer for Ukraine
God of all, with alarm and concern we bring before you the military intervention in Ukraine. In a world you made for peace and flourishing, we lament the use of armed force. We mourn every casualty of this conflict, every precious life extinguished by war. We pray comfort for those who grieve and those who are fearful. Hear our longing that leaders and nations will honour the worth of all people by having the courage to resolve conflict through dialogue. May all our human failings be transformed by your wonderful grace and goodness. We ask this in the name of Christ, the author of peace and sustainer of Creation. Amen. This is a prayer from the Joint Public Issues Team CTE Dates for your diary:
12th June - CTE Pause for Hope Service at 4pm at Eastcote Methodist Church; for survivors of Cancer. 17th July - CTE Service and AGM. Time and Exact Venue to be confirmed. The Templeton Centre is now available to hire, see details on our Facilities page.

Tea/coffee and cake are provided after the service but due to the continuing situation you are asked to being your own light eg sandwich, lunch. As with all our services at present, you kindly are asked to please wear face masks where possible during the service itself.

Good news!
Good news! Christ is risen! The stone is rolled away, life has triumphed. We sing our hymns of rejoicing to you. Even as we rejoice, we pause. For we know all is not right in the world. You are crucified again and again, laid in a grave, a stone sealing your tomb. You weep with children who hunger and thirst for basics of life. You weep with the elderly -- neglected, forgotten, alone. You weep with the victims of violence. In them you are crucified anew. In our baptisms we die to an old way of life and are born into new life in you. We rejoice as you call us by name. We are not afraid Not afraid to work for justice, Not afraid to say, “This evil shall not stand.” Not afraid to say, “No longer shall the powerful go away sated and satisfied and the weak go away hungry and hopeless.” Swell our hearts that they might be full of love. Open our eyes that we might recognize you in our world. Unplug our ears that we might hear your cries. Strengthen our hands that we might reach out. Fortify us that we might have the courage to face the task Empower us to truly follow you. Good news! Christ is risen! Christ is risen indeed!
